Before you sign off an office glazing quote

  1. Ask which panels are toughened and which are laminatedA full-height partition beside a walkway is a critical location under IS 16231 and the NBC. The spec is not a preference — get it written on the quote, panel by panel. What the standards require
  2. Price manifestation as a line, not an afterthoughtClear full-height glass in a workplace needs a visible marking at eye height so nobody walks into it. Frosted film or etched bands are cheap; discovering they were excluded after handover is not.
  3. Decide acoustic performance before you decide the lookA single 10mm pane and a double-glazed cabin partition look nearly identical and do not sound alike. If the room is for calls, the glazing spec is the decision — the framing is trim.Thickness by application
  4. Confirm who does the making goodFloor channels, ceiling tracks and door closers all touch someone else’s work. Agree in writing whether the glazier or the main contractor patches the ceiling grid and the flooring.
  5. Check the lead time against your handover dateToughened glass cannot be cut after tempering, so a re-measure is a re-order. Ask for the tempering lead time separately from the installation date.Size and cost calculator

What office fit-out teams ask first

What does an office glass partition cost per sq ft in India?

Office partitions run roughly ₹120–₹1,200 per sq ft across Glassy’s published city pages. The bottom of that range is a plain aluminium-framed clear partition; the top is double-glazed with blinds between the panes. Frameless toughened sits in the middle, and the glazing spec moves the number far more than the framing does.

Is a frameless glass partition or an aluminium-framed one better for an office?

Frameless reads cleaner and costs more; aluminium-framed is faster to install, easier to modify later and takes double glazing without a bespoke detail. If the layout is likely to change within three years, framed is usually the more economical decision even though it lists at a lower rate.

Do office glass partitions need manifestation markings?

Full-height clear glazing in a workplace should carry a visible marking at eye level so it is not walked into — usually a frosted band, etched dots or a printed graphic. Treat it as part of the glazing scope and get it priced on the quote rather than added afterwards.

How much does double-glazed acoustic office glazing add?

Expect a double-glazed cabin partition to land near the upper half of the partition range rather than the lower, because you are buying two panes, a sealed cavity and heavier framing. It is the right spend for meeting rooms and calls, and usually the wrong spend for a corridor screen.

Can switchable smart glass be used for meeting-room privacy?

Yes, and it is the common use in Indian offices — a PDLC film laminated inside the glass turns the panel opaque on a switch. It is the premium end at roughly ₹1,400–₹7,500 per sq ft, so it tends to be specified for one or two rooms rather than a whole floor.

Who installs office glass — the interior contractor or a glass specialist?

Usually both. The interior contractor owns the fit-out programme and a glass fabricator makes and installs the panels. Glassy lists both, so you can appoint them together or go to the glazier directly if the partitions are the only glass in the job.
