Glass price calculator
Pick a glass product, enter the panel size and quantity, and get an indicative ₹ cost range — for toughened glass, partitions, railings, shower enclosures, mirrors and more. Budget first, then get exact quotes from verified suppliers.
Indicative only — actual prices vary with thickness, brand, finish, edgework, hardware, quantity and your city. Confirm with supplier quotes before budgeting a project on this number.
How the estimate works
Cost range = area (sq ft) × low…high rate (₹ per sq ft). Area in square feet is width × height in millimetres ÷ 92,903. The low and high rates come from Glassy's indicative glass price guide, compiled across Indian metro cities. Products priced per set or per piece skip the area math and multiply the per-piece range by your count instead.
Worked example: a 1200mm × 2100mm office partition panel is 2.52 m² ≈ 27.13 sq ft. At an indicative ₹300–500 per sq ft, that panel lands roughly between ₹8,100 and ₹13,600 — before hardware, edgework and installation extras.
What drives glass pricing
| Factor | Why it moves the price |
|---|---|
| Thickness | More material and harder tempering/handling — 12mm costs roughly 40–70% more per sq ft than 8mm. |
| Type & brand | Toughened > annealed; laminated > toughened. Saint-Gobain and AIS typically price above unbranded float. |
| Finish | Frosted, tinted, lacquered or printed finishes add processing cost over clear glass. |
| Edgework & cutouts | Polished edges, bevels, holes and lock/handle cutouts are charged per edge or per cutout. |
| Hardware | Patch fittings, spigots, channels, hinges and handles are itemised — finish (SS 304/316, brass, matte black) drives it. |
| Quantity | Larger orders lower the per-unit rate; single small panels often carry a minimum billing area. |
| Site access | Upper floors without lifts, narrow stairs or long carries add labour and sometimes crane/rope charges. |
Why ranges, not exact prices
Glass is a fabricated product, not a shelf SKU — the "price of glass" depends on the exact specification and on who quotes it. Two suppliers in the same city can legitimately differ 20–30% on the same panel because of brand, stock, workload and what their rate includes. Any calculator that prints a single rupee figure is guessing; a range with the drivers spelled out is the honest answer.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the price of glass per square foot?
Convert the panel to square feet — multiply width by height in millimetres and divide by 92,903 — then multiply by the per-sq-ft rate. Example: a 1200mm × 2100mm panel is about 27 sq ft; at an indicative ₹300–500 per sq ft that is roughly ₹8,100–13,600.
Why does the calculator show a range instead of one price?
Because glass has no single market price. The same panel can vary 30–50% with brand, thickness, finish, edgework, hardware and city. A range is honest; one number would be false precision. Use the range to budget, then get exact quotes from local suppliers.
What affects glass prices in India?
Seven factors dominate: thickness (8mm/10mm/12mm), glass type (annealed, toughened, laminated), brand (Saint-Gobain, AIS, Modi Guard), finish (clear, frosted, tinted, lacquered), edge polishing and cutouts, hardware quality, and order quantity. Difficult site access — upper floors, narrow stairs — adds installation cost on top.
Does thicker glass cost more?
Yes. Price rises roughly with thickness because thicker glass uses more raw material and is harder to handle and temper. Moving from 8mm to 12mm toughened glass typically raises the per-sq-ft rate by 40–70%, though the exact step varies by brand and supplier.
Is installation included in glass prices?
It depends on the supplier. Per-sq-ft rates quoted by fabricators often include basic installation, while dealer rates may be material-only. Hardware such as patch fittings, spigots and channels is usually itemised separately. Always confirm what a quote covers before comparing prices.
How accurate is this glass price calculator?
It multiplies your panel area by indicative rate ranges compiled across Indian metro cities, so it is a budgeting aid, not a quotation. Actual quotes vary by city, supplier and specification. For an exact figure, request free quotes from verified suppliers on Glassy.
